<![CDATA[Hypoxi Therapy Centre - Blog]]>Wed, 19 Jun 2013 14:32:30 -0800Weebly<![CDATA[Day Three!]]>Wed, 01 May 2013 13:08:33 GMThttp://www.hypoxi-therapy-centre.co.uk/1/post/2013/05/day-three.htmlSorry for taking so long to update everyone on how things are going with my Vacunaut course. Unfortunately, on Friday evening I had a great idea to jump a fence (don't ask). Needless to say I didn't jump it very well and misjudged how long my legs were and everything! Anyway, I went stomach first into said fence and my stomach swelled.. :( It was extremely painful but nobody really gave me any sympathy because it was my own clever idea that caused my injury!

So obviously I have learnt my lesson and that is the LAST fence I try and jump over! Well, until I forget what happened and have another clever idea! Anyway, due to the inflammation on my stomach I didn't go on as I didn't want to make it any worse.

So today is Day Three! I feel alot better today and the end 5 minutes were a lot better! I just put on the music channels and sang along to a bit of Blue and I was fine! I'm feeling a bit tired today, but that might be because I'm working crazy hours at the moment. That's just part and parcel of working here! Oh well.

I'm trying to drink 3 litres a day as my nan read an article which said bigger people (over 14 Stone) should drink 3 litres instead of 2 to help get things moving. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what she was on about, I don't normally listen to her, LOL but anything is worth a try..

Back on tomorrow,

Will keep you updated -

<![CDATA[Day Two!]]>Fri, 26 Apr 2013 14:18:44 GMThttp://www.hypoxi-therapy-centre.co.uk/1/post/2013/04/day-two.htmlOk, so day two!! Didn't manage to get on yesterday as we had an influx of clients and every time we chose a time slot someone wanted it! Oh well these things happen, I won't complain... much, lol. I did manage to get on today and it was more of the same. Still wanted to get off after 25 minutes. I think it might be because the last five minutes feel like hours. Hopefully next week I'll feel better towards them, but right now. We are sworn enemies! I have found a new motivational song for my last five minutes though, which did actually make it pass a bit quicker. The song is called "On My Way" by Charlie Brown. It's good for motivating you and keeping me in the mindset that I may not be the size I want to be, but I am certainly on my way to it!

Some exciting things came through the post for me yesterday. Last week I went to get the contraceptive injection again. I've been on it two years now and you have to have that really awkward chat with the nurse about how it affects you and any side effects you have had. I told her the only thing I've noticed is a weight gain.. Turns out I've gained 2 stone in the past 2 years. The lovely nurse has sent me a few leaflets in the post about weight loss and weight management courses funded by the NHS because I have put on a significant amount of weight through having the injection. I will definitely be looking through them when I have a spare five minutes. Anything that can aid me in the battle with my weight is brilliant! As of next week I am going to start the 5:2 fasting diet as a lot of my clients and friends have started doing it and keep raving about it! For anyone who doesn't know, the fasting diet is about consuming 500 calories for two days of the week. It claims to aid weight loss and keep you healthier, so I will update you as to how that's going as well.

After three days and twelve recipes, we have finally managed to put together some recipe cards for you, they are "protein only" and have been tried and tested by mum and myself. So if you're unsure of what to eat after Hypoxi, come and buy our recipe pack for £5.

I've already been to the shop in anticipation for my 4pm lull and it was hard! I was surrounded by chocolate, fizzy drinks and crisps (especially the Nandos one). However, I persevered and just brought some salted peanuts and a bottle of water..

I'm working two jobs tonight so I wasn't able to have a little lunch today as I usually do because I just physically wouldn't have the energy for it. Being the unorganised person that I am, I didn't bring anything with me either. So off to the cafe across the road. As soon as I walked in the door, the smell of frying bacon had me looking at their menu. Something I knew I shouldn't do because it is a carb full heaven! So I had another wobble and almost bought a burger and chips, then I thought: what a waste of Hypoxi! Imagine the cafe owners surprise when the girl that normally has the BLT with ketchup and mayo (it tastes lovely, try it on a non hypoxi day!) asked for some tuna mayo with lettuce and cucumber, no tomatoes, no carbs. I thought he was going to die in shock!

So thats two wobbles averted today and I am feeling great!

Next time you're in the area, come on in and say hi, pick up some information, and book a taster. We are committed to getting you to your desired size.

That's it for today,

Speak to you soon,

Jade x

P.S: Check out our recipe cards below ;-)

<![CDATA[6 hours without Carbs.]]>Wed, 24 Apr 2013 17:22:19 GMThttp://www.hypoxi-therapy-centre.co.uk/1/post/2013/04/6-hours-without-carbs.htmlSo there we are! My first day where I had to go six hours without carbs. A lot of my clients find it daunting at first, carbohydrates contribute a lot in our daily food intake. Toast or cereal for breakfast, maybe a sandwich for lunch, and then dinner can be loaded with Carbs.. Pasta, Potatoes, Rice etc.. And with Hypoxi you must avoid the complex carbs as well so bye bye fizzy drinks, chocolate, squash, sugar, fruit.. The list is endless and you sometimes wonder if there is anything you can have on a Hypoxi Day. Today was ok because I didn't really need to eat lunch as I had had a big breakfast so I was pretty full up. Then my 4 o'clock lull came. Everyday around 4pm I have a lull in energy and I start to get really hungry, normally I'd pop down to the shop near Hypoxi and grab a bottle of lucozade and a packet of crisps or a chocolate bar. Today I knew I couldn't do that.. I want to make the most of my treatment so no carbs for 6 hours..

Anyway, I had a wobble and really fancied a packet of Nandos Hot Peri Peri crisps. I felt like I was going to go crazy without them! But a quick check with Mum and I knew I could have almost a protein equivalent . A packet of salted peanuts. So off to the shop I went, Packet of salted peanuts and a bottle of water and I was fine!

I did it.. 6 hours with no carbs and I feel so much better knowing that I have gained the most from my Hypoxi treatment!

So now after I finish the rest of my clients, I'm going home for some lovely dinner with some Carbs!!

<![CDATA[Jade's New Course - Day One]]>Wed, 24 Apr 2013 13:30:04 GMThttp://www.hypoxi-therapy-centre.co.uk/1/post/2013/04/jades-new-course-day-one.htmlWelcome to my new blog! I will try and update after every session and maybe on my Hypoxi off days.

Well, my first day back on the Vacunuat machine.. One word to describe it - HOT. I have the most amazing ideas, like going on a machine that raises your temperature when its already 20 degrees outside! I was sweating buckets from the first five minutes. But I feel great now. I'm not going to lie to you and say it was the easiest thing in the world.. I worked my bum off for those 30 minutes. At an incline of 6 and a speed that varied between 3.0 and 3.5 I'm actually fitter than when I last went on in August 2012.. Fitter but Fatter - just my luck!

At the 25 minute mark I was struggling, I was hot, I'd dropped my water bottle and Loose Women were talking about how great 'Lightfields' was (I personally didn't think it was a touch on Marchlands)! I just wanted off.. BUT I preserved, thanks to mum's encouragement, I know if she hadn't been there I would have stopped at those twenty five minutes.. I know myself that sometimes encouragement is all you need to carry on and the feeling you get when you encourage someone to carry on, like mum encouraging me or me encouraging a client, when they complete it, you feel so proud of them.

Now I feel great and really pleased with myself, half an hour doesn't sound like much time, and its not in the grand scheme of things, however, after almost a year of not even doing anything about my weight (apart from gaining more) it felt like half a day! I know though, from personal experience that the more I go on, the smaller I get and the fitter I get that half an hour is going to fly by!

So I guess that's it for now.. I'm back on tomorrow though, so I'll update then. For any new clients, or people that are just curious about Hypoxi Therapy, come on in for a free taster session. I know how hard it is to make that first step and start exercising again, but it will all be worth it in the end..

See you tomorrow blog!

<![CDATA[Day one of my new course..... Helen]]>Wed, 24 Apr 2013 12:48:38 GMThttp://www.hypoxi-therapy-centre.co.uk/1/post/2013/04/day-one-of-my-new-course-helen.htmlPhew....... How unfit am I? LOL...

I have just literally bitten the bullet and undergone a 30 minute Vacunaut session........Its been a long time, LOL. I decided to block out some appointment times to start my own treatment again as my trouble is, that I never get time. Early, early mornings are not ideal for me with having to get the Bug to school and in the evenings I am knackered. So, lunch times have become my new Hypoxi treatment times from today. Well, I was very proud of my 5.0 incline and my 2.8 speed given that I have done literally NO exercise in over a year. I am so excited to be that one step closer to my size 10 wardrobe again and cant wait for my session tomorrow :-) Gonna share my measurements as well at the end.... and show you all how easy it is. Jade (my eldest daughter and trusty Hypoxi assistant) has also started today again, but, I will let her update you on her journey :-)

<![CDATA[Amazing results]]>Fri, 27 Jul 2012 14:41:57 GMThttp://www.hypoxi-therapy-centre.co.uk/1/post/2012/07/amazing-results.htmlWell, with all the hype and buzz of the Olympics lately we have been really busy with new courses and many old customers returning for that Summer blast as well. We are really fortunate here in Surbiton, Surrey that we are on or near too many of the special event routes including the Men's and Women's Cycle Events which take place this weekend. The atmosphere here in Surbiton at the moment is really buzzing with lots of flags everywhere. We were also really proud to be on the roadside watching the Olympic torch relay down in Surbiton town centre this week waving our flags and spreading the Hypoxi word.

Measurement and result time for my clients is always an exciting time for me but I was especially touched this week and reminded why I do this as one of my new clients has lost 5lbs and 2% of her body fat in just six sessions :-)

What makes this so exciting is that this particular client had reached a plateau in her weight loss journey having been a member of Slimming World and having a personal trainer for the last year; so she had decided to give Hypoxi Therapy a try as she heard how good it was at targeting those specific areas and reducing stubborn FAT. By being able to be a part of the pushing through the plateau for her was wonderful and the joy on her face was so special to watch!

Well done also to everyone who has had measurements this week - so proud of you all :-)

<![CDATA[Been a while]]>Wed, 09 May 2012 16:03:53 GMThttp://www.hypoxi-therapy-centre.co.uk/1/post/2012/05/been-a-while.htmlWell, it has a been a while since I blogged and I have had some website problems too as well which hasn't helped. I have been really busy for the last three months and have not had much time to get on the machines either however I have had some FANTASTIC results for my clients in this time. A huge proud beam goes out to the lovely Mia today as she has lost 30+ cms in NINE sessions. So, so proud of her :-)

Here is a picture of my two Hypoxi apples at a recent event we were invited to; to spread the Hypoxi word :-)

So much more energy and my trousers have loosened so I can breathe in again. Sleeping better too - which is a bonus. This week has been mad busy and we have met some really nice people who have all started new courses. I cant wait to see their half way results. I am going to figure out how to post a picture of me strutting my stuff on the treadmill to encourage you all. Tony still not started yet... Got to get him on! ]]>
